Sukothai, Thailand

Sukhothai, which literally means "Dawn of Happiness"  was founded in 1238. Sukhothai was the capital of the Thai Empire for approximately 140 years. Today 193 temples are excavated and partly reconstructed on 70 square kilometers of land.

To explore all these temples and the different areas, we decided to rent bycicles to be able to go wherever we wanted to, and it was actually a lot of fun! Biking from one statue to another temple, seeing some wildlife along the road, local villages in the dry jungle, and taking the time to take photos of what was surrounding us, made a perfect day for us!
