With my sister (Carole) and Josefin, we decided to go down to Aix Les Bains to visit my Grandmother with the Kids. We staid few days with her, enjoying the house, the market in the city and le Lac du Bourget, which is the largest and deepest lake of France.
Aix derives from Latin Aquae (literally, "waters"), and was a bath during the Roman Empire, even before it was renamed Aquae Gratianae to commemorate the Emperor Gratian, who was assassinated not far away, in Lyon, in 383. Numerous Roman ruins survive.
The atmosphere in this city is pretty rich and poch, but still quiet nice to visit and walk through.
