It was not easy, but after many problems for the Erba family we managed to reunite in Phuket! It was a happy moment for us when we finally saw their smiling faces arriving through the doors at the airport, the doors we spent so much time impatiently watching. (They had problems with their flight and got stuck in Bangkok for two whole days before flying down to Phuket!) We found our way to Koh Tao, where we had planned to spend our vacations. Another happy moment when we saw Jaime and Ewelina again, friends from Mexico who are now living on Koh Tao, that were waiting for us at the pier.
Koh Tao is a very pretty little island covered in palm trees, with small but nice beaches surrounded by the green, warm ocean. The rythm is relaxed and easy, time doesn't really matter. The small pathways of Sairee village where we stayed take you along the beach passing different little shops, restaurants and spas and you can easily spend the afternoon walking around searching the best bargain or watching the sunset on the beach.
We did some diving with Jaime who's working as a dive instructor there, we visited the beautiful island of Nang Yuan, relaxed on the beach and ate delicious Thai food. Oh, and not to forget, the french imported cheese, wine, sausage and chocolate that we enjoyed sooo much! We loved spending time with the family and the goodbye was, as it usually is, sad. Jean-Luc, Nicole and Jannine, thank you so much for your generosity and for coming, it really made us happy!
After the family left we had a couple of days relaxing where we rented a scooter to visit Tanote Bay (thanks for the tip Annina!) and Shark Bay, saw a Muay Thai fight and a Ladyboy show which was absolutely amazing. The pictures doesn't really make them justice, but they give such a fantastic show and live it's so hard to tell that they are actually all men. It's just unbelievable!
We left Koh Tao happy and relaxed, with the compass pointing towards Chiang Mai...
Upptäckte att musiken som strömmar ur mina högtalare här i Biblioteket på Ollars är Around the world med Daft Punk. ;)
